Still in love with the sound of the Clavia Nord Modular? Now it can be virtually yours. Sound Burst Northmood is the sample-based player that plays like the original instrument.
The best patches have been sampled, note by note, sometimes with several velocities, using world-class audio equipment by Focusrite, RME, BSS, Aphex, Mindprint, Creamwere and Lucid Technologies. The result is just astonishing

I agree with you...
It's a bit strange to create this kind of thing but how many people really program their synth ? or just use the default presets ? may be there are some people interested by this ?

Sampling a modular patch and saying that it "plays like the original" is like taking a photograph of an Alexander Calder mobile sculture and saying that it "looks" the same as the original. So what? It doesn't BEHAVE the same.

This madness has been around for years. Obvioulsy there must be a market for this. We have all seen those sample CDs in magazines and shops. Analog Blowout,, Analog Masters, Synth legends etc etc.
"Load the samples in your Akai 1000 and now you can play those stunning synthleads!"

As if.

Dunno, but I guess as long as there is a market for these kinds of samplesets they will make them. This NM CD is hilarious though.

Hmm, I once saw a post at some techno board somewhere. A young guy was into trance and he wanted some samples of analog sequencers. I am pretty sure he had no idea about what he was asking for.

Cool

Modular Synth, WITH patching cables.

This one is to my knowledge, the best result for making a similar thing.
It has the advantage of being a sampler too.

wow! This one is off to a great start. I tried it out and it's very nice sounding. Not many modules in there yet, but the ones it has work. I like this guys, Chris Jones from NW England's attitude; attack/decay times up to 60 seconds.

It has some nice features with polyphony but I haven't figured out how to make for nice stereo yet. Not saying you can't do it, I just haven't gotten there yet.

There are no ring modulators, frequency shifters, pitch shifters, envelope followers and many other modules, but this is still beta.

You can use it for free now. There is a support forum on KVR Forums.

Thanks for the heads up, Bantri.
