A few quick tracks from an iPod |
 |
|
I've been taking a few business trips to Boston the last while, and this time, since nobody from the office was joining me, I brought along my 2nd gen iPod, an Akai Synthstation and a Zoom H4N. I used Finger Bassline, Digidrummer and Nanostudio. I wanted to keep it simple, spend as little time as possible learning the software, and just play and see what happened. Here's the setup:
Not the usual thing I would do but here's the set just in case anyone wants to listen:

Mix is rough, volumes are a bit screwy too.
I had done three tracks for the last song I worked on, but didn't get a drum track done. The drums are rough anyways. I was sitting in the airport listening to the track, with all of the background chatter leaking through the pads on my Grados when I figured maybe that would be a good track to add, instead of drums. So I ran the track in record mode and walked around the terminal, recording random conversations. Just by luck, an announcement came on as the song was finishing, so I included that too.

Cool, Randy. I've always thought of doing a walking around the airport piece, but never did. I like the ambiance, but it reminds me of airports. _________________ --Howard

Really!? Thanks for the kind words Mosc. If you want the .wav file of the airport walk-around, just let me know.
