Me, and my big mouth, seems after a bit of googling that you can't get better DSP's than what's inside the G2's...

Ok, dead is not a good word then. Unsupported! Very Happy
Is it better?

What do you use the chameleon for? i believe it's open, so you can actually code it if you want... like Paul Maddox wrote the wavetable synth for it...

Several of the skins made are quite good. The Infiltrator is pretty cool for all sorts of stuff.

That being said, what I really want rightnow is a standalone digital resonator module.. like a beefed up version of the one included in Tassman.

It's been a long time since I dabbled with Tassman, but isn't the resonator just a Karplus-Strong algorithm? If so:

Les is doing some stuff with resonators .. transmogrifier he calls that .. right now on his radio channel .. he also designed a KS module thats sound pretty nice - Kevin Kissinger has one or two of those and he did some nice things with that.

So why not use an engine for 4 separate resonators?
Cheaper than 4 modcans, tho i have to admit they make awesome modules.

KS is like pinging a resonant filter with tuned noise which is fed to a damped delay line?

I reckon a Mac Mini with Tassman 4 is what I'll try to fit into a 5U module next.

Tassman 4 looks awesome! I downloaded it and the manual, installed it without a hitch, and ran it. no sound. iTunes makes sound. what's up?

Uh.. scratch

Try to figure out where it thinks it sends audio out?

Or try any of the presets in order to see of that solves anything..

It is a modular synth so all the usual issues apply.. try with a preset..?

The example is very complex. When I select "start", the preset goes away and I cannot get out of the "start" option. I have configured it to send audio out to my new blue yeti mic, which has a headphones out. There are no other examples to choose from. I have to dig into the thing and learn it before it makes any sound.

I know I'll be missing out on some great software, but I cannot use music software that makes no sound. Why do these soft synths always have "examples" that are not configured to make sound? I bet they lose a lot of business that way.

I wonder if it's a problem with the blue yeti? nope, that wasn't it, problem persists on Built-In output. This is not the first time I've had this problem, it must be me but I don't know what I'm doing wrong. Bummer.
