If I get a chance, I'll take and post a photo, but I found it in an area some distance away from my home that I don't normally go to.

I came across a plant in Carderock, Maryland, that looks very much like wild carrot and smells nothing like it. I cannot figure out if it's water hemlock or something else. The crushed leaves have a very pleasant, somewhat spicy odor. It this were in the western U.S., I might say osha, but this is the east. Anyone have any idea what it could be?

Turnip or parsnip - I wish! I can't seem to get a clear distinction from water hemlock, since I found one source stating that water hemlock can smell delicious.

Blend?

It's a somewhat spicy smell, very pleasant. Not at all carrot-like.
