I would love to have a guest appearance too. Is the concept of the show to make music and sounds in new and interesting ways? I think some of my DIY gear can do some very unique stuff.

Thanks all who gave nice comments! Smile

Seriously, for those considering playing, - doing a regular show is a very good experience! If you are considering doing one, think about doing a few or even getting into a regular schedule - it does wonders to your improv skills.

my interpretation of the concept of the show was quite literal, so I always tried to have adventures in sound Smile

and you're welcome to have a guest spot to give us your interpretation Smile

Cool. Thanks. I would even be willing to commit to once a month. I'm away from April 18th-26th, but I could start on the 4th or 11th. Let me know what works best for you. I have some ideas I think would be interesting to experiment and improv with.

I have no idea what I will do next but the plan is to do more "studio" based stuff, ie not live. We will see how that goes...

wow, rob left a hole and it got filled right away! we are overflowing with performance talent! perhaps AIS could become a variety show of sorts, all with the common theme: Adventures in Sound!

I think that is a testament to what a great job Jez and Rob have been doing with the show. Nobody would want to step up and join in if they didn't think it was a great show to be part of.

Jez - PM me or try to catch me in chat if you want to discuss some more.

Here is the only improv I have done so far other than latency jams with various others:

http://electro-music.com/forum/topic-51359.html

I decided to go on air a few minutes before starting, and didn't even have the synths setup and ready to go. I'm certain that things will improve a lot when I can plan ahead of time.

and here's the recording for Episode 128, performed while rather unwell, using VSS-30, Boardweevil 2012, Tenori-On and Blofeld, with DD-20 for looping, Resonator for filtering and Wedge for delays

I have been sick all week and haven't had a chance to prepare properly, but I will still be doing a guest performance tomorrow.

The performance will feature the C-MOnSter synth I built, and I will be demonstrating some of the rhythmic properties of its logic circuits as well as some of the cool sounds it can make.

More info on the synth here: http://www.jacobwatters.com/c-monster.php

Accompanying this synth will be a drone from a Korg X3 patch, pads from a Roland Juno-106, some bass sounds/pads from a Yahama DJX, and drums from the UM-TSS Drum Machine (CMOS DIY).

Here is Episode 129. I had fun playing despite being very ill and having cold sweats (though that was in part due to being nervous).

Thanks to everyone who tuned in for the live performance.

Episode 130 was made using my newly acquired korg microX, run through resonator, wedge and dd-20 for looping

I was quite tired so my original plan was for some sleepy droney stuff, but after jamming on the microX for a couple of hours before the show I woke up a bit, so the set ended up a bit more lively in places Smile
