As many of you may be aware, Propellerheads announced 3rd party extensions for Reason at a press conference a day before the musikmesse.
This could evolve into something very interesting and nord modular like. Urs Heckmann has hinted that he may be able to create rack extensions for individual modules in zebra, for example. The developer of VAZ modular too has said he's checking it out.
There's a lot of potential here, and I'd really like to see 3rd party developers make modular components rather than just port existing vst/au plugins. Also, since Reason is quite stable, this might be useful in live performance situations too.

They say its coming in Reason 6.5 in the 2nd quarter, so its close.
Im waiting to see how it turns out before upgrading to Reason 6. At launch, I'd imagine there won't be too many extensions available, so I'm gonna wait a few months to see how it pans out.
One possible caveat is the "apple app store" model that Props is following with this, taking a percentage share of the extensions' price from the developer, which might dissuade many developers from getting in.
