New Build: A Mini Lunetta from Scraps Subject description: Or how much can I cram into a small enclosure?
Just thought I'd post a blurry video of the status of my newest lunetta. It's still being tweaked but art least it passes the first test for sound. My biggest oversight (you have to have at least one), is cramming it all in the cartridge box without creating more problems.
I built my first lunetta 2 years ago with nuts and bolts and used that approach here because of space and I have a tone of em' . Idealliy, I would be able to connect a strap/cord,rope to the case and wear the lunetta. I have a portable guitar amp that I can connect to my belt too. Then it's game over at the library.

Well, the mini will not be so mini . Too many pots, switches and "modules" combined for an open faced sandwich at best. Probably would work if I used the most barebones approach...
On to the larger recycled option . _________________ Zontar Prevails!

That sounds great, just the kind of electronic bleeps I love! I'd like to see some schematics of the main circuits if you have any I allways have trouble fitting things into small boxes too, I often cut my ideas down alot. My latest two or three creations are acctually oh hold because I don't have enough metal to make boxes big enough for them _________________ As a mad scientist I am ruled by the dictum of science: "I could be wrong about this but lets find out"

Here's my mini lunetta in an enclosure better suited for it. Modules/chips:
1 40106 for 4 oscillators ( 3 w/switches to choose caps)
1 4094 shift register
1 4512 data selector
1 4040 divider
1 4046 as pitch tracker with switches for caps and a pulse out
1 melody generator. (old module, needs some debugging still)
A 4 input passive mixer with Tone and Volume controls (slacker design)
I have some minor tweaking to do then I'll call her done. LEDs can wait for now

That's spiffing I love the ramshackle look Some very interesting sounds too, it sounds as wonky as it looks _________________ As a mad scientist I am ruled by the dictum of science: "I could be wrong about this but lets find out"

Wonky is definitely is! The wood enclosure was from another project idea (a Class T stereo amp that I put in a smaller enclosure). It's been sitting around the mancave looking for a purpose.
Now it's happy making noise. My first lunetta was actually nuts and bolts, my second was fancy banana plugs. Each has their own character; which is why we build more than just one, eh?
I still have a few 40106's, 4040's, 4001's left. Still thinking of ideas for the next build. A mask/helmet? A ridiculous armband lunetta, all Boba Fett inspired? Only time and sleeping toddlers will determine that... _________________ Zontar Prevails!
