speak & math |
 |
|
i recently finished my first bending project. i got a speak & math off ebay for $20. i gathered all the bends i could find on the net and sorted out the ones i wanted.
some came from here:
http://experimentalistsanonymous.com/diy/Schematics/Circuit%20Bending%20and%20Modifications/
and some from http://casperelectronics.com and i think a few other places.
here's the work in progress with the leads soldered in and my schematic:
with the holes drilled in the faceplate:
internal wiring completed:
the finished unit:
and finally, i have recorded a few minutes of screwing around with it here (11MB):
http://phlake.org/circuit_bending/project%2059%20v1.1%20speak%20&%20math.mp3
in the process of building it, i screwed up a couple of buttons on the front panel by peeling back the membrane, and now "on", "word problems" and "off" don't work any more. i have a circuit-kill button anyway, so that works for "off". i hacked in an extra "on" button from a short i'd found when i was testing bends. i figure i'll just live without "word problems".
i haven't broken any new ground here, but i'm happy that my first project came out so well. |

Interesting -- what bends have you got in there? |

I have not here my S&M, so maybe I can't remember very well... let me see...
I founded a lot of "banding node" but finally I connected only those that do not make "crash" my bentstument. (that because my S&S has 14 different effects, but some one can't run toghether or crash...! )
it has:
1 Pitch control knob and 1 switch to select up or down "octave"
2 or 3 different Distortions
1 Freezing button
1 Pause button
1 Loop switch
1 Loop button
on/off switch
panic (reset)
maybe something else... tomorrow I will say to you _________________ Yes!

Does popping the batteries out for a moment fix it? If so, then...
My reset switch is a momentary, normally closed (NC) switch. I wired it to the positive battery terminal so that when the switch is pressed, it disconnects the battery. |
