I believe I mistakenly posted this in the wrong forum before, hopefully it will get more attention here, sorry!:

I just got my Nord Modular G2 and I must say I am blown away! I am totally new to synthesis so bare with me please. =]

In any case, I have a patch setup like the one attached. I am wondering, how do I give it a longer duration and a more full sound with out making it sound full of reverb and without holding the OSC until it sounds siney? If you think of the actual waveform of the beat looking like a decreasing saw, I would rather it look like a rectangle. Attached is the patch and what I mean.

Thank you!!!!

-Chris

Boost the amplitude and then put it through a compressor/limiter.

A little trick that I like is to send the signal througha NORD filter set to high pass, turn up the res some, switch off GC and set the freq to somewhere around 50 - 80 Hz, gets you some bottom end weight. Or try using the AHD envelope instead of the standard AD or Decay only envelopes, this will mimick the effect of the compressor clamping the first stage of the kick drum (set by the hold time).

you can also use the Amplifier module

use 2 after eachother boost 1st one , lower 2nd one slightly untill clipping stops.
