Hello, I am new to the board and have this idea about a custom midi controller, but I have no clue how to go about doing it. What I want to do is take 4 MPD 18's or a similar product and make a keyboard type controller but with say 64 pads. I would be able to de-construct them and build my own "box" persay. But I have no idea about the wiring and how I would make it so each pad triggers a different note comparable to an MPK. Any help would be much appreciated! Thank you. And if anything is not clear about what I am asking, just say so and I will attempt to clear it up.

That looks very helpful! I'll have to read more about the different products they offer but it seems that they have what I am looking for. Thank you!
