Z5U is the worst carbon capacitor you can get, i guess, however, they are cheap and i use them for decoupling. and that's what are the caps you referred to are for.
so yes, they are fine for this pupose. _________________

BTW all who indicated interest in additional boards should check their PM#s and/or email... _________________

Thanks Fonik! Another question!
Is it possible to remove the Coarse tune pot from the circuit? I just want to use the FM inputs to control the frequency. Basically, I would want to replace the coarse tune pot with a fixed resistor... maybe 50K so it sits half way through its range? How would I wire it? |

no need to do this. just leave off the potentiometer R43 and the according input resistor R29.
you don't need the fine coarse control then either? (R44, R56)
anyways, maybe you rather want to replace the panel mount coarse pot R43 by a trimmer? you could just replace the header by a PCB mount multiturn trimmer... _________________

I thought Todd Fletcher was offering a parts kit, but I've e-mailed and PMed him multiple times, no response... didn't even open the PM. |

Here's my panel. How do you like them's apple's? 8hp. No coarse tune. I will mostly be controlling this via Silent Way or use a DC offset module.

Thanks! I only do that if I have to and if I want to fit everything in the smallest space possible. If I really like a module, then I tend to make it small because I want many copies. |

currently not. someone over at muffs planned to do a eurorack panel (metalphoto top notch), alas, it did not happen yet. wanted to reßorder as soon as they are available... _________________

Hey Mr. Fonik, could you tell me the hole size and the #x # square that the PCB mounting holes sit on? |

notice that the PCBs could be mounted back on back. the power connector on the waveshaper is mirrored... _________________

the idea was to mount them on bot sides of a bracket, so that you still can reach all thise trimmers.
i mounted them all in paralel to to the frontpanel, though _________________

I'm planning to use a long/flexible enough cable that I can lay them side-by-side/flat while I'm testing and tweaking and then fold it over and mount parallel but back to back as you say, Fonik. Needs a 2U wide dotcom panel to fit the jacks and knobs anyway, and it fits in parallel very nicely. (in my plans anyway ) |

yes it is. it is going across the CD4046 from Vdd to Vss. _________________

Hmm... I don't know what to do with the matched transistors and 3k tempco I got from MFOS. Should I do it exactly like the picture above? Except I have thermal paste. Should I do it like the picture above except put thermal paste inbetween the transistors and sit the tempco on top and have some thermal paste on that as well?
Or maybe I can put the tempco between the transistors so the transistors touch the tempco and not each other and have thermal paste all inbetween? |

i use termal glue.
transistors back to back like in the pic with a thin film of termal paste (glue), 2k PTc resistor on top (again with termal paste/glue).
ther termal conditions of the two transitors should be as equal as possible. _________________
