Hi,
does anyone have a place to recommend for buying FSR sensors in Europe?

[like the ones here
http://www.trossenrobotics.com/c/robot-force-sensor-fsr.aspx ]

delivery charges and waiting custom clearance time are a killer

thanks!

It's available from Lextronic in France.
They also have further Sparkfun products.

If you don't care about accuracy you can make your own FSR out of the conductive black foam that ICs are sometimes pressed into for shipping. Put a thin piece of aluminum above and another piece below, connect a wire to each piece of aluminum and voila! Works best in a Wheatstone bridge configuration followed by an opamp for gain. Not accurate or stable, but sometimes you don't need those things.
