Hi Yves,

I am planning to build your Min/Max processor, but I have noticed some inconsistencies. R16 and R37 are labelled as 50K in the schematics, but 100K on the board and in the BOM. Which is correct? Also, will this run on +/-12V without changes?

Many thanks!

There are two parallel 100K resistors on the boards. So you can either insert one 50K, or two 100K in parallel (means it makes a resistor of 50K).
See also the note on the YuSynth page.

Cheers,
Woody

Thanks Woody. I did read the notes and I'm aware of the parallel resistor trick. However, the BOM lists six 50K resistors, in the schematics it's a total of eight.

I'm specifically referring to R16 and R37. If you look closely at the component layout image, you'll notice that R16 and R37 are only a single 100K, not two in parallel...

Yes the second 100K (in parallel) must be soldered under the PCB (track side).

Thanks Yves!

I've built a single version on stripboard. Works like a charm on 12V. I have not normalised the inputs to GND since my jacks are not switched. However, the positive and negative rectification still works well with the second input floating. Is there a specific reason why you are grounding them or just to be safe from eventual bleed/crosstalk?

Thank Yu for sharing this great little circuit! respect

Yes it's just for security.

Ok, cool! So I'm going to keep the wires short... Very Happy

Yves,
I wonder if that makes any difference. I've built this module without those supplemental resistors (and I believe that many others did just the same) and I didn't notice anything wrong.

Yes it makes a difference if you want to have a true min/max function and if you use this module to combine CVs it can be annoying but if you use only this module to produce distorsions in sound this not really important

Thank you, Yves!
Honestly, until now I've used the module only for audio, so your explanation is welcome. I've just done the mod and it works flawlessly. Perhaps it would be worth to amend your site accordingly. Anyway we're all in debt with you for your splendid work. Very Happy
