so i finally got around finishing this build. it is the old prototype PCB. i left off the PMW of the front panel (it is on the board, though).
therefor i added a feature that is not part of the circuit/PCB. i added a VCO/LFO switch that switches a larger cap in parallel to the original timing cap, and connects a LED to the core saw.
will have to calibrate it still.

Nice build.
Is the extra range capacitor going to be included on the final board? |

good question, however, i would prefer to keep this a pure thomas henry design. actually i don't want to change it. _________________

I can understand that. Adding a range switch would be easy anyway. I just wondered as I like the idea of being able to use it as an LFO as well. I like the idea of building modules to be as flexible as possible. |

Your board/panel look great! Nice work! Interesting thermal coupling on the transistors (is that what I'm seeing?) Do you have a closer shot of this? What did you use there? |

You're determined to eat up all my budget aren't you?
i was planning on the LFO, but now I think I will have to get this PCB too! |

I cant imagine how annoying this all is. The vast majority of us are completely reliant on people like you to enable us to enjoy/love this SDIY thing. We rely on your genius because we dont have it. I am very happy to pay for this as this is the best and fairest way to do things. Ask Fonik, he is getting more and more of my money

Yeah, me too. Lots of talented people who don't get enough money for their creativity or hard work. |

no PCBs yet. will have to order another prototype PCB for the frontpanel components... _________________

Is this going to be like the LFO controller, with a separate board for the panel components? If so, does that mean that the actual circuit PCB is locked in already? Just thinking out loud, but if there's a chance that this PCB could be completed and available anywhere near the same time as the LFO I'd like to combine my orders for obvious reasons...

Yeah, ditto. It sounds amazing, is a simple build, and sounds amazing. Also, it sounds AMAZING. I'm in for 2. |

yes, additional PCB for front panel components. however, i had to make some changes on the original circuit board to accommodate the front panel PCB nicely. so i will have to order new prototypes and build them to be sure. and the front panel PCB is not even finished yet (however, i will be finished soon). _________________

That does sound really good, sync works well.
did note the sine level is quite a bit down though.
still i think i will have to buy a couple at least. _________________ In an infinite universe one might very well

hmm maybe just the patch used then.
Is it possible to bundle up with the controller LFO boards
I would ask for 2 of these and 4 of the lfo boards if the timing suits
I do not need panel pcb's

Hi all,
Yes, the redoubtable Kansan, Scott Stites, and I spent a huge amount of time getting the amplitudes right on the various outputs (including an interesting trick along the way). If you check my measurements in the original post, you'll see that only the triangle is off by several tenths, but the other signals are dead on. (Or at least they were on the breadboards for Scott and me).
So, I wouldn't worry about it, unless Fonik turns up something we missed entirely.
