| Hey Philipp! I'm new here myself, but thought I'd say hi. Enjoyed Nuance. How'd you get your start? What programs do you use to make music? |

hi FireMonkeysHead,
thanks for your feedback!
I actually started in 1998 with spinning HOUSE music on my turntables and started this year with my own productions... (just to let you know where I am coming from...).
My recommendation would be to check out following progs for music production:
- LOGIC
- REASON
- ABLETON
... I believe, that there are more tools for music productions, but these are the professional ones. if I am correct, you can get a trial version to try it out and check-out tutorials delivered by the companies or in the internet.
just play around (it is mandatory to get skills on music theory, there are many books and internet sources available - google is your friend), I guess you have a pc / mac - requirements are shown on the company websites as well. after a while you will find your path, the music type you like to produce and from time to time you could do an investment on technical equipment, like:
- a controller & keyboard,
- a external audio interface and
- monitor speakers...
... but I would start with a trial version to check out, which software fits you best (I believe, that the "save" function is not available on a trial version) and if you really like to create music.
& btw I am using ABLETON.
hope this helps! good luck and I wish you creative moments in the area of music production.
all the best
cheers - philipp _________________ homepage: http://www.philippmann.com/
