Just bought a NMM , are the PC ports MIDI? |

Hi all, I got a good deal on a Micromodular so it should be here next week, lots of interesting info here.
Regarding the PC ports on the back, will regular MIDI cables work for that? |

Yes it is MIDI, using normal MIDI cables and a normal MIDI interface on the PC side, the editor is a bit picky on the MIDI interface though. _________________ Jan |

currently I use edirol um-3ex, works fine for me with Windows Vista, before that I have used midiman midisport 2x2, that one was OK for me too on both Vista and XP.
Built-in MIDI ports on various audio I/O boxes didn't work too well for me. _________________ Jan |

$200 is cheap for a micro modular, you should be happy you got it for that price. $400+ is more common these days. _________________ Free Tibet. Release the Panchen Lama from prison. Let the Dalai Lama return to his home. |

Guess it would work .. if you would also like a regular MIDI interface for the synth (to play it from the computer for instance) you'd want a double MIDI interface probably. _________________ Jan |

I'm running my Micro' through my Kore 1 controller/interface under Windows 7 (32-bit) using Nord editor v3.03.
The only thing I had to do was set the Nord app to run in Win98 mode and all seems to work well _________________ Yamaha Rm1x + A3000 + CS6r + AN1x, DSI Evolver Desktop, Akai S3000XL, Korg MS-20ic + Micro X + MonoTron + Zero8, Nord Modular Rack G1, Emu CommandStation MP-7, Zoom Sampletrak, UAD-2 Solo, iLemur, NI Kore-1, Novation Launchpad, Apple MacBook + Mac mini.
