Hi all, I got a good deal on a Micromodular so it should be here next week, lots of interesting info here.

Regarding the PC ports on the back, will regular MIDI cables work for that?

Yes it is MIDI, using normal MIDI cables and a normal MIDI interface on the PC side, the editor is a bit picky on the MIDI interface though.

Any recommended MIDI interfaces? and more importantly any to avoid?

currently I use edirol um-3ex, works fine for me with Windows Vista, before that I have used midiman midisport 2x2, that one was OK for me too on both Vista and XP.

Built-in MIDI ports on various audio I/O boxes didn't work too well for me.

$200 is cheap for a micro modular, you should be happy you got it for that price. $400+ is more common these days.

Guess it would work .. if you would also like a regular MIDI interface for the synth (to play it from the computer for instance) you'd want a double MIDI interface probably.

I'm running my Micro' through my Kore 1 controller/interface under Windows 7 (32-bit) using Nord editor v3.03.
The only thing I had to do was set the Nord app to run in Win98 mode and all seems to work well Smile
