So there's an Access Virus A on Ebay, stuck at $222.50 with 12 hrs left to go. It has some cosmetical condition issues and was not further tested beyond turning it on and doesn't come with a power adapter. Is it worth going for it? I do need something with controls for everything. Then again there is a rare vintage synth (Ampron) sitting at $338.00 with 20 hrs left. It has a single VCO-VCA-VCF (HP+LP)-ADSR structure but has features that most other synths don't have plus it looks delightfully archaic. Not much of a description there but is said to work and from the pics it looks pretty nice. Hmmm decisions, decisions...

I took a chance and went for the Virus. I was gonna go for the Virus and the vintage synth (Ampron Aubade), but the price shot up to over $1000 in the last two minutes of the auction, which was too much I can handle. Oh, well.. looking forward to the Virus.

Virus isn't a bad synthesizer. The problem with eBay is the last 30 seconds of a bid...

Oddly enough, there was no change on the virus price all day until the very end of the auction and I snatched it for $280, which compared with prices for other Virus A's seems to be an awesome deal. Although the fact that it hasn't been tested beyond turning it on and the discolorations on the panel could have been a factor.
