Hey all. A friend told me about an interesting experiment a composer did a long time ago and I want to try it. When I write its mainly strummy acoustic stuff, really basic. So I've uploaded the rough tracks to soundcloud for anyone to download, and record their own tracks of whatever they think sounds good with it. If you send me the tracks you record to my music (aidschan@aol.com) I'm going to compile them all and post what it sounds like for musicians that have never met to jam together without hearing each other. Then I'm going to whittle it down and re-record my parts. Anyone who contributes will get full credit everywhere I post the results. My first track, "Cautious Optimism" is available for download at http://soundcloud.com/user6728505/cautious-optimism-rough-tracks . Thanks all!

Hello fellow resident of Louisiana Exclamation

welcome to electro-music.com Exclamation

I can’t commit to help you with your experiment, but hopefully others here will. I wish you the best of luck with that Smile

This is also a perfect test to see who actually has all their gear setup and ready to play/record stuff, as compared to those who get distracted by all the pretty blinken lights, and spend their time building things, and couldn't even tell you if their MIDI cables are connected properly or not. Rolling Eyes
You can probably tell that I, unfortunately, fall into the latter camp! Laughing
Great idea, though I'm up to my neck in great ideas! Laughing
I'd love to hear the final product, so I'll be watching this thread closely. Cool

Sounds like a fun idea. I am over committed right now, but will try to give your piece a listen.
