What to do with 32pcs That 2159 VCA with CPU/MIDI control

I’ve always planned to one day modify my Behringer CM8000 to a keyboard summary mixer. But taken interest in DIY synth project I’m wondering if this device better can serve as a synth controller?
It has 32 pcs VCA already under MIDI / CPU control so if these VCA's are capable devices for analog synth this Cybermix might actually do something useful in it's lifespan. The 2U rack has lots of room for print boards, and the front panel is already loaded with jacks.

As far I can see from these pictures each channel is built around the That 2159 VCA.

Knowing Behringer my guess is that each channel are blueprint from the 2159 schematic for volume control. But I’ve not been able to verified this as I can't locate the service manual.

I've read somewhere that That 2159 is similar to 2155, but with lesser quality control. duhhh Behringer Confused

Anyone here ever worked with the 2159? Are the better known VCA it can compare with or replace function-wise?
