Hi Guys,

I know it's been answered here a couple of times, that it's pretty normal when the good old Nord Rack1 or 2 emits some low 60hz hum from the internal power supply, but I would still like to ask a question:

Is this Rack1 power supply something special, what had been mounted only into these units in the 90s or is it anything which could still be purchased from some service centre?

I've been googling for a few weeks now and have not found anything yet as I would like to have this power supply replaced and as I also purchased the expansion board recently, I'm in a need to spruce this red lady up a bit:))

Thank you for any help!!

welcome

First congratulated with the purchase of the expansion Smile

The hum is made by inference of the power supply and the red metal hood…
It is surely not in the sound!

Hi Wout,

thanks for the warm welcome Very Happy

I know it does not affect the sound engine, I was just wondering if that power supply is something what had been designed only to be used in Lead1 /Rack1 in the past, or is it something which could be ordered completely new and be replaced, would that help, what do you think?

I don't remember the rack3 I had once borrowed having this issue and other hw synths I use are completely without any power supply hum after I power them up....
