Bernhard Wöstheinrich, a. k. a. The Redundant Rocker

Bernhard elicits meaning from abstraction in electronic music and media whether as an artist, musician, painter, graphic designer, small town bohemian, or failed control freak.
Using a compositional approach akin to his work as a visual artist, Wöstheinrich usually begins by improvising abstract sonic structures which are subsequently developed into an increasingly detailed aural picture, both in his own solo project as The Redundant Rocker, and in collaboration with colleagues Markus Reuter (as Centrozoon), Ian Boddy, Conrad Schnitzler †, Klaus Hoffmann-Hoock, Tim Motzer, No-Man singer Tim Bowness, and Synapscape's Philipp Münch.
He has released music on a variety of labels such as DiN, Burning Shed, Tonefloat, and Unsung Records, and continues to push at the boundaries of rock, electronica, and the avant-garde.

On the particular occasion of the E-Day Bernhard will be accompanied by the drummer
Markus Strothmann.
Markus Strothmann’s very own style combining influences from rock and jazz music, giving his playing an edge.
He has played with many popular artists of the German and the Dutch jazz music scene such as
Frederik Köster, Jeanfrançois Prins,Norbert Gottschalk, Nippy Noya, Bart van Lier, John Hondorp and many more.
He also is a dedicated teacher, giving lessons at the “ArtEZ College of Arts” in Enschede, the Netherlands. Furthermore he is busy researching the network of jazz music in Europe.

The fusion of Bernhard’s synthesizer and Markus vintage kit creates a unique mesmerizing mood which traverses a multitude of spheres but certainly brings a history of electronic music echoing Brian Eno, Tangerine Dream, Klaus Schulze, Can, Popol Vuh and colliding that with the more experimental and avant guarde sound densities.

furthermore:

    CODE INDIGO (UK)
    RENE SPLINTER (NL)
    TMA and friends:
TMA and Alien Nature on synthesizers and sequencers,
Martinson on guitars and Thomas Tommy Betzler on drums.
