Hi,

I want to use a cheap MIDI-keyboard for a DIY-Synth. The Keyboard has USB, so I have to transform it to CV-signals. Are there any ready-to-use solutions like the MIDI2CV-moduls out there?

regards

Boerge

I've never seen a USB-to-CV converter, you'll probably have to use a MIDI-to-USB cable with a MIDI-to-CV module

Yes, I found that too. But I rather thought about a little PCB, USB in, CV/Gate out. USB=>MIDI=>CV/gate seems a long way Wink (delay?) The only DIY-thing I found was here:

But the MC1408 seems not to be available Sad

The MC1408 can be found on eBay:

Good luck with that circuit!

I also know a UK source for this chip:

It's more expensive than eBay, but I've bought ICs from them before and I've had no problems. I'm always a bit suspicious of eBay, unless I've had a specific recommendation (although they may well be perfectly OK).

There's nothing special about the MC1408, except maybe its scarcity. Equivalents with the same pin out are DAC08, 0800, 0802, all of which are still available.
