I just finished this module(matched NPN) with no problems and am blown away with the results. This filter is amazingly aggressive and has a lot of character. There seems to be a small amount of unpredictability in regards to the resonance control but this is not a problem for me, seems to add to it's charm. A tamed wolf is still a wolf, right?
A quick note on build materials: I didn't have any 50k pots hanging around my bench so I subbed all of them with 100k. All seems to be fine, FOR NOW.
Anyhow, my hat is off to Yves for sharing his improvements on this classic filter. I'm looking forward to spend some quality time with yet another awesome Yusynth module. Thanks again
-Ben

I just noticed that C13 is polarized incorrectly on the board layout. I'll see if that changes anything.

I just finished Yves' 2nd Steiner filter design. I tweaked some resistor values to "tame" the resonance however I think I will add a panel switch to choose between a "tamed down" resonance response and the "aggressive" response (the Steiner filter can really scream if you want it to!).

Hi Kevin,
Glad to hear someone else is building this filter as well. I was curious what values you changed. I seemed to have found a good compromise with R22 set to 330k and R18 at 15k.
Thanks.
edit: These values were needed because I used a 100k pot for cutoff. I later used a 50k Pot for the cutoff and returned to the orginal values. All is good and the filter functions great.
