Hey guys,
While digging around I've found a few other sources but Marking Depot has them for about $1.70 ea, $10 minimum order, and a metric, uh, eff-ton of other awesome markers, paints, etc.

i started in on my first crayon paintstick attempt on my new panel and it looks great--however, i find that as im wiping down the frontpanel to remove excess paint, a little of the paint in the engraving is coming out too. im going to try a second pass at it tonight. |

Let it dry about an hour... Actually, I did some color and (accidentally) left it for a week or so. Used a credit card to get the excess off _________________ Nothing succeeds like excess. |

That's the way to go ; let dry the whole 20/30min before remove excess.
For me, white paint is not optional on black panel. |

Just dropping in to say that these sticks work wonderfully with engraved acrylic, say, from Ponoko.
I smeared it all over my panel, then wiped it off about half an hour later. The paint just gets in the grooves and doesn't come out! It's great!
On acrylic, just be careful what you use to wipe off the excess paint. |

I'm curious about how durable this stuff is. Those of you who have used it for several years now...any chipping or smearing or any other problems?
I've been pretty happy with no in-fill at all when using black anodized aluminum panels, but sometimes I wonder about getting a more neutral color and doing an in-fill in black with this stuff. _________________ Looking for a certain ratio since 1978 |

The first panels I filled with this technique are now 3 years old and they look as if I done them yesterday.
The white paint is still white and no smearing or crackling to report.

Cool! I wonder if they'd work as well on shiny aluminum knobs. I've literally got hundreds of aluminum knobs with cut indicator lines (not colored in) that I was going to paint by hand. I've done about 40 for one large panel, but it was a pain and not very precise. Will have to give this a try at least! _________________ Looking for a certain ratio since 1978 |

Hi Fonik,
Can you please post the link of the shop to this color material again?
The link you've posted is dead.
Thanks in advance _________________ http://www.myspace.com/mgmtrance |
