hi, I'm building this module and have no 680nf cap! can I sub it for 1uf ?

Hi,
If you use a 1uF instead of a 680nF cap what you actually do is change the time constant (TC = r*c), in other words: it simply takes longer to charge and discharge the cap, or again in other words: this will make the slewing time longer (experts correct me if I'm wrong).
Just give it a try, it shouldn't spoil the functionality of the rest of the module.

I use for my sample and hold 1nf polystyrol

I usually try and see if I have two caps I can put in parallel that will add up to the value (or near the value) I need.

470 + 220 is close, 560 + 120 would be dead on.....

thanks for replying, I ended up ordering some 680nf caps, before that It was a toss up between 1uf or 470nf and 2x 100nf Smile
