Hello All,

To shanemorris, Stream Operator please change my name to Mark D Hoffman, AKA Space Gun Bunny http://markdhoffman.com and please set aside an evening performance so that I can show off the circuit bent "EyeSeeTV" color spectrum glitching TV performance light show.

I plan on meeting a lot of fellow electro-music makers, joining in on some jams, and making a bunch of new friends!

Thanks,
Mark

Hi Mark
Check on the name. Thats fine for internet listings. However, for the poster I just use one name as a.k.a's, etc can add a lot of length. So, Mark D Hoffman for the poster?

Look forward to meeting you and hearing your Space Bunny music Laughing

Hello!

I just returned from the neighborhood board meeting and I'm happy to report that the board unanimously approved my proposal to cover the wooden dance floor area with heavy-duty interlocking mats.

Thus, the 2013 Kansas City Regional electro-music festival will proceed with full use of the floor space!

Please bookmark this link -- it will be updated with changes before and during the festival:

http://kevinkissinger.com/kcregionalem2013.shtml

The jam sessions/collaborations were a major part of the festival in 2012 and this year we've scheduled all of Sunday, and a few hours on Friday and Saturday for jam sessions.

The jam sessions are open to all participants -- you can participate in any or all of them. As we did last year, many of the sessions are "themed" and, based on suggestions from last year, we will do a couple of "unthemed" sessions (in other words, we just start to play and see where it takes us!).

Sunday will open with a seminar from Charles Shriner (not to be missed!) and then a number of jam sessions -- for a few minutes prior to each session, Charles will lead mini-seminars focused on the theme of each session.

I would suggest that if you plan to participate in jam sessions (and I hope that you do!), bring cables (balanced or unbalanced (XLR or TRS) that are long enough to reach the central mixing console. Also, be prepared to mix your feed in mono just in case we run out of stereo inputs. We want to be sure that we can get everyone in the mix! How long? 20-25 feet will likely be long enough.

The schedule is tentative and I "guessed" at some of the jam themes however please post ideas here for themes that I didn't think of. The themes help us, as an ensemble, to focus and can be helpful with a large group.

OK... gotta run for now. Look forward to seeing everyone at the festival!

Well, the schedule has already changed.

One change is that on Sunday one of the jams will be a "Space Music" jam session. We can always opt to do a clock sync jam if people are interested, however I feel that "Space Music" is a theme that may invite more participants.

Once again, Mike Metlay volunteered to set up the stream. Thus, all the seminars, jam sessions, and sets will be streamed in real time.

Due to another cancellation we will have an additional open jam session on Saturday afternoon.

A huge "thank you" to Kevin Kissinger, Mike Metlay, Shane Morris, and everyone else who helped get this event set up and moving. I am absolutely thrilled to have an event like this so close to home; I learn and grow each time I attend and truly value the friendships made here.

Attached is the recording of my set (my very first live performance). Thanks to all who helped make that happen (you know who you are). Smile
