This track is my latest experiment with my DIY modular synthesizer.

My direction has been to work with psuedo-randomness -- that is, music that starts out sounding random but gels over time.

I've also wanted to explore the use of what I call VLLs -- very long loops. These are loops that are long enough that the repetition isn't obvious.

I didn't play this with the intention of posting it however I it is kind of relaxing and thought I'd go ahead and share it. Also, I was chatting on line with Edison Rex and I promised him I'd post this.

If you like micro-tonal music, sample/hold texture, and music that is somewhat spacey, then you may like this track.

Thank you!

Here is a little more detail about the track:

As I was developing my "Skip First clock after sync" module my original idea was that I needed a way to keep my (analog) sequencers and clock dividers from "skipping" ahead of the correct clock signal. But I started to ponder other uses and stumbled on the idea that I could mix the outputs of many oscillators to obtain a waveform similar to random slow noise. If the looper's reset signal is used to sync the oscillators, then I would be assured (within the stability of the oscillators) that a sample taken at any given point in the loop would be the same on each repetition. The result is a sequence of voltages the length of the loop (even if the the loop is very long).

Another point of interest is that I used the Yusynth Transistor-Ladder VCF (Minimoog clone) and, at times, used the Yusynth Fixed Filter bank.

I anticipate some future efforts wherein I will quantize the sampled voltages to do 12-TET or other (14-TET) temperaments. This track was unquantized -- thus microtonal.
