Subject description: Sampling and auto-slicing app with basic sequencer

My mini-review:

The bad:

Effects adjustments can be fiddly. You're supposed to be able rotate an effects icon with a circular swipe of the finger but it's not always responsive

Sequencer is in 4/4 time - no other time signatures possible

Cannot import custom sample files. Cannot save samples currently loaded before recording a new sample. Any new samples you record will overwrite the old ones.

Takes a while to figure out which effect icon is what (there's a delay, ring mod, etc.)

The good:

When you hit Record, Yellofier records about 15 seconds of audio then automatically chops the audio into 8 slices and assigns them to pads - all in one button press!

Very easy to edit the slice regions

Included sample libraries from Yello and others are pretty good.

For newbies to music-making, the Random button is a nice touch. Press it to auto-generate a sequence pattern, complete with effects. Press and hold it to generate a more experimental-sounding (more extreme effects settings) pattern.

One-touch upload to Soundcloud after you're done with your piece. Official site with some Soundcloud tracks: http://www.yellofier.com/

Absolutely brilliant. This was the app that finally inspired me to get into sampling and slicing audio. My next series of app purchases will probably focus on sample manipulation/transformation rather than synthesis - this would include Samplr, Grain Science, Borderlands, etc. And yes, I will also play with Nave's custom wavetable feature.
