OMG! This is nice! New DIY drum machine coming... |

I wanted one of those tempest things, and also a Machinedrum. Sadly though, both are right out of my price range. But this looks supercool and inexpensive to boot! (Thanks Synthtopia for the link!)

Sonic Potions DIY Drum Machine Subject description: Price ain't bad... |
|

So the price is about $450 CAD or bit less in USD.. So that's still kinda pricey for a DIY kit. And that's WITH the enclosure.
I don't know about you, but with my Volca Beats on the way this one looks like it's only in second place ^_^
I guess the ability to have different kits loaded in would be nice. The Volca beats being all analog won't have this capability.. The PCM sounds may be replaceable later on once hacks are discovered.
It does look cool.
This also caught my attention recently:
Groovesizer Alpha
I'm loving this wave of DIY hardware..! I have yet to build one. The Groovesizer will likely be my first, with the costs (without enclosure) to be about $100 plus shipping (!) and next I have my sites set on a much loftier goal, the Arp Two Thousand Six Hundred! |

I honestly don't know what to make of the Volca Beats range. I didn't like the sound of them at all. I much preferred the old modelled sound of the original Electribe range. (Funny how I'm referring to modelled analogue as 'old'!? There's irony for you?! ) _________________ ACHTUNG!
