I can´t get 1uf aluminium bipolar nonpolar capacitor. A polyester capacitor of the same value works as a replacement?

If you have 2uF or 2.2uF standard electrolytics you can place a pair back to back and essentially get a nonpolar cap.

just curious - is it important which way to connect the electrolytics together, plus or minus side?

Hi roborobert. I think that in this thread:

we decided that it didn't make any difference if the 2 caps are + to + or - to - (unless someone's changed their mind since then). I've certainly seen circuits with them wired both ways round.

Yah, roborobert, the consensus was that it doesn't matter. i always do - to - but that's just a convention, not a requirement.
