(fixd)

I'd skip the "fire up" part. Wink

Pictures specs etc. now up at http://www.nordlead4.com/ Looks like they went back to the NL2 design and added wooden end cheeks, very classy...though the pitch stick placement between two buttons looks a little odd to me. Overall though I'm impressed.

The new demos sound lovely - the reverb is gorgeous and the effects are per-slot, yay. I wonder what the Polyphony is? Guess my G2 won't be leaving any time soon, but I must admit to having a little synth envy. hopefully this will be cured by the arrival of an Elektron Analog Four later this week.

Agree, I'm also impressed, specially with the Rack version. sounds really nice to me, specially the smooth distortion. And effects are independent for each slot, yay!

It seems to have a lot of features like variations a la G2, proper unison (thanks God), independent vib LFO, chord memory... but only 2 morph sources.

Of course nothing can replace my G2, except a G3, and only if it is better.

They're also launching a Nord drum 2 with pads! I didn't see that coming at all, so who knows what Messe might reveal...

6 channels, MIDI tweakable, stereo (finally!) and still fairly cheap. WTF Very Happy

And yet another piano (via matrix synth)

I've never seen them launch so many products at once, they have obviously been very busy up there in Sweden...

I continue to save for when the Nord Modular G3X debuts. I'm not buying any other synths until that shows up, and given how long it's been, it should be an easy purchase for me day one.

I know, dream on; and I will. Cool

I will consider the NL4 and new DDrum as just practicing software development, hardware manufacturing and interface design as warm-up to releasing my final dream synth.

Doesn't need to try to compete with the sample-based stuff out there, or Kronos; just a careful evolution of the G2.

Given the way the G2 got beat up for being too "digital"-sounding, too expensive, not enough like the NM1, "missing" modules, etc. I can understand Clavia's reluctance to try to address this tiny market again.

Still, I'll be out there, waiting and hoping, even if I'm the last one.

Well, it could be the other way around...
NL4 and NordDrum could be spin-off's from the G2!

More likely, actually, but still..... I dream.

If it never happens I will thank Clavia for my retirement. Smile

Exactly! I'm using the Pulse2 as a gas-stopper right now, but when/if that actually comes out I can always revert to the G3 as he eternal never-happening dream product.
