"Write On!!!!!!"
"Brilliantly Funny and Insightful!!!"

I like the new rules she uses.
/me agrees that it goes fast, but it covers quite a bit quite well and makes complete sense on a number of levels (not just about 12 tones, though clearly that is the theme of this piece).

From the start I saw the bowl bird as stylistically Lear--a childhood hero of mine. He too was revolutionary!

"From start to end this lesson on twentieth-century arts and philosophies shines and illuminates!!!"

(Thanks for posting this, Howard.)

Good point, Dr. Justice.

Here's a link to a ViHart blog on using binary math for composing rhythms. Not as philosophically full and entertaining as the 12 tone video, but it does fit the Composition thread:

As a composer who's studied all the early 20th century movements, like 12 tone serial music, I was thrilled to see this video. I can only imagine how much work it takes to produce something like that, even with modern tools.

I look forward to watching her other videos and will post links to ones that seem appropriate for this forum.

Wow, what a brilliant young woman!
Thanks for the introduction to Vi Hart.

Researching her led me to her employer, Khan Academy.
Wow, what an amazing organization.

My head is too full now to go to bed reading my history of Dada.

Thanks, Mosc!
