Hi guys.

I have this idea of connecting the next midi to cv inside my midi keyboards and get the power from the USB of the midi keyboards.
http://www.acxsynth.com/midi2cvlite/midi2cvlitefr.htm

Will I get troubles powering the midi keyboards and the midi to cv using the USB as my power source for both?

Cheers,
Isak.

USB supplies power at 5 volts and 500 mA. If the two together draws more than 500 mA, there will be problems. So you need to know two things: Current needed by the keyboard and the current needed by the MIDI to CV. Add that together. If more than 500 mA, problems are likely.

Thanks for replying.
Naturally, deferent midi keyboards takes deferent currents.
I have few midi keyboards.
The funny thing is my most smallest midi keyboard I have takes the highr current.
It's 500mA.
I guess no midi to cv in my small keyboards.

and, of course, unless whatever you are controlling with the voltage runs off +5v CV in then you are going to have to build a separate scaler.
