So I have stepped a few steps forward on this modular project.
In the start of june me and my girlfriend went for a month worth of interrailing in europe, so I did not get anything done, but since we got home I have been hard at work on my modular!

I'll start off with some pictures:

First: the final design of my panels! This is a moog size aluminum panel with a self adhesive paper covered with matte spray laquer as front face. I've tried lots of stuff to make it look nice and be durable, but this is by far the best I have come up with.

This is my case under construction:

And here it is more or less done:

The case will be covered with black tolex and metal corners, very much like the arp 2600. The little panel next to the keyboard will be for CV and Gate connectors, MIDI in and portamento control. Maybe I'll throw in a knob for modulation too, for performance.

I've got a little over 20 PCBs to populate and make panels for now. With the real estate of the case it's gonna be a lot of fun to put them together and start actually playing this instrument!
I've ordered the tolex and it is on its way, so soon I'll have the final design of the case. Can't wait to see the result!

So what do you guys think about the design?

Ah thank you Yves! Nice to see that you follow the threads on here.
I've just finished covering the synth with black tolex, ARP style. I will get back to you with a picture later on.

Tomorrow I will install PSUs and DC rails. After that it is very close to being a playable synth!

So, I've made quite a bit of progress on my yusynth project.
As of today i've finished:

3x VCO
2x VC-LFO
2x VCA
2x ADSR
1x Noise
1x Sample & Hold
1x Minimoog Filter
1x Synthacon Filter
1x ARP 2600 Reverb

And the case with keyboard with cv gate and more.

I'll post some pictures soon.

Assembly has been very straight forward. Yves diagrams are easy to follow and have very few flaws. Thanks a lot for that, Yves!

The synth sounds totally awesome and I can't wait to get a sequencer and more effects in it. I have a MFOS 8-pole phaser pcb waiting to get populated. I'm planning some kind of delay too, maybe I'll design something around the PT2399 with CV.

Anyway, building yusynth is so much fun! Thank you Yves for making it so much fun! Smile

So I got around to taking some nice pictures of my modular synth. It's pretty close to what I drew in sketchup about a year ago, actually much nicer.

What you see is where I'm at right now. 10 modules have been made, and I have 20 more to fit in there. Some of them will be double the width, as you see in the bottom right corner. That's gonna be the MFOS stereo panning mixer with line and headphone out. I'm gonna make at least two half width panels too with multiples.

So anyway, the pictures:

I'd love to hear what you guys think of my build!
