This is just getting nutty now. Don't know though how one is expected to use the joystick while manipulating the upper controls? Even so, it won't cost $12,000 to buy. Or at least I hope it won't. :-/

Hmmm...I'll probably get it just for grins,(unless it's too pricey) but I already have XILS3 on my MBP with the stick and a bunch of other controls mapped in Lemur,so It's not a priority.
But still...
Pretty cool.

No-go if it's more than $20 (eg. that Fairlight app). I might consider it for $15 or less.

I must say I listened to the original again and realised that the vcs3 really is nothing more than a rich man's toy. Yeah maybe great back in the day when you couldn't afford a Moog, yet alone even ever seen one.

I'll probably purchase iVCS3 just for the novelty factor, but I'm sticking with TC-11 for all my drone work, as TC-11 really is what I consider the future, or at least the future as it is now. I would even say that Peter Zinovieff would have said the same about TC-11. I reckon he'd love it.

Yeah,I still need to get TC 11,I've just been suffering from "app overload" lots of stuff I haven't learned how to use very well.I've got about 50 music apps and 90% of the time I use just Lemur and Samplr.

I've teased Tom about being a cheapskate, yet I've put off buying TC-11 because of the price. Ironic, innit??? Laughing

I just noticed there are now two TC-11 tutorial vids on Youtube. Hopefully there will be more to be found! After Apple's muzzling of Orphion, TC-11 looks like the remaining contender for most expressive iPad synth app.

How much it cost is irrelevant, given the price of the iPad itself.
Of course, one would expect it to be significantly less than the iPad.

How good it sounds compaired to the original is more important.
Given that the sounds are originating from the digital domain,
I don't have high hopes.

That's pretty unreaosnable given the amount of time it takes to develop something this complex.

Do you say that about every app?

I'll pay more than $20 for TC-11 because I know how complex it is and what it offers. But this VCS thing? You're going to have to do a better job than that to sell me on it - saying I'm being "unreasonable" is not helping your case.

I just realized the developer of this app is the same person who developed the Density-Pulsaret suite of apps for iOS, Mac, and Win. This is a developer with an established track record.

I have a couple of his apps on my AppShopper Wish List, and none of them are over $10. I'm not going to complain though if he decides to charge $50 or more for this VCS emulator, because I have no real interest in getting it, whether he charges $5, $50, $500, or 50 cents - so you can put your guns away, cappy.

I will however be getting iDensity soon....

I recently learned that the VCS3 was one of Lustmord's synths of choice.

iVCS3 is reportedly being beta-tested by a real Synthi user:

Cheers for that link Jez! It sounds amazing!! I'm even more excited now! Do reckon it weighs up well against your VCS3?

I reckon someone needs to make a controller now that also houses the iPad as the patch matrix?! Cool

Hard to say without trying it out properly, but it seems to have the spring reverb sound

that would be cool as long as their was a way to make the knob positions in iVCS3 match those on the controller

It seems you can have the joystick on the knob screen too, so that's nice

I wonder if it will sound anywhere like my cranky old Putney?
