Ah there are in-app purchases. Nothing strange about that these days, but it may be worth to know that the price you see in the app store won't cover everything.

We used to make that joke with regard to the Nord Modular ... that one might need to buy virtual patch cables ... scary stuff ...

Not sure if I have that much WANT Evil or Very Mad

Once again you become aware of things the Clavia guys did right. Like why the splitters/multiples? It's necessary in the real world because of cable design and/or degrading signals, but in software it's just silly.

And why doesn't the oscillator make sound if nothing is connected to its input?

And would it be that tricky to implement polyphony?

But if the price is right I guess it's silly to complain. Smile Curious to see what it will cost.

Well IAP has become a bit of a norm. Nanostudio has it too, with the extra tracks. Developers seem to think that if the price isn't extremely low to start with no one will buy it however good it is.

Looked like that splitter thingie has level pots on the ouputs - that could be useful for modules that have no attenuater on an input ... like an inverted mixer.

There need to be more outputs on the splitter module...that or have CV/Gate thru connections on each module. While I appreciate how realistic it's trying to be, the limitation of only two rows can be a bummer...especially when you have to use so many spaces for splitters, mixers...

Looks cool though. Probably in my future purchases.... (can't help myself Laughing )

A "free" app with $8 IAP sounds decently priced to me. I wonder how Taylor Holliday will respond on his Audulus updates.

Sometimes I tire of apps that try too hard to look like hardware (especially with knobs that don't turn in the same direction that I move my finger - though Thor has an awesome finger-to-knob UI implementation) but this one does look oh-so-sexy.

FWIW, I tire of apps that need me to have a PhD in computational physics to get them to make any sound! The Nord Modular was revolutionary when it came out, and no one has ever really bettered its ease of use. Sure, there has been stuff released that can do far more, but like I just said, only if you have the kind of brain that is able to figure it out. This is why I can't help feeling that electronic music has simply become popular within circles of those who already know how to do it or make it, rather than reaching out to a wider audience. Although having said that, virtually everything popular these days is electronic, so maybe I'm just talking a load of shite again? Hehe.

Anyway, this should keep me entertained until iVCS3 makes its debut. Cool

Re: the G2, I think the beauty of that one is the balance between power and usability. It's big boxes with (mostly) self-explanatory inputs, outputs and knobs, while still being powerful enough to enable an endless amount of craziness as well as lovely sounds. My beef with most products in the similar area has been that they are either too complicated or too simplistic. This iOS app seems nice in that regard. And delays with modulation will sell me anything. Smile

I think the only thing that was missing from the G2 Editor was multitouch support. With that, it would be the GOAT (Greatest Of All Time) virtual modular UI.

Anybody tried running a VNC app on iPad to his/her computer running G2 Editor?

It is not easy to patch indeed, would be handy if the endpoint of a cable would not be under your finger, so you could see where it goes .. or have the receiving connector flash up or whatever ...

Also its a bit odd it stops playing when you patch it.

Getting rid of the presets was a lot of work, at first wanted to listen 'm all through and then delete the ones i wouldn't like - turns out one can't delete the one that is currently being played, so i got pissed off and just deleted them all - except for some modulated delay patch that after a couple of tweaks did some nice stuff on the arpeggiator.

As soon as I started patching I got annoyed that there was no constant module, and it's retarded that them splitter modules are needed - the Clavia way is much handier, where you can just chain cables ... heck, even connecting outputs together on a virtual makes perfect sense, just sum the signals ...

Overall first impression ... too much form over function.

Anyway, it seems noodable .. now lets see if it sounds any good ... headphones please

Hmm .. a bit soft on the headphones ..

oooo - and it can crash too Shocked

Form over function is about right.

I like the lighting effects on the knobs though.

Hmm .. waveform selection is not handy .. have to step through all to the right one now Confused

Can't get the delay to sound a bit clean .. modulating it with a saw.

And on every patch save it stops - and one needs save often when an app is crashy, also it forgets the arpeggiator notes on a save, too bad.

hmm .. what is the iTunes file sharing folder? I'd like to post a patch here maybe ... Shocked

I will attempt to have a look at it!

Am I stupid or does it not do audio rate modulation?

I was able to route one vco 11 to another's 1v/oct and f.mod inputs as well as
vcf cv without any problem.
