Anyone have any info / schematics on the chips and layout? I've got one and swapped the tuning pitch resistor so I could mount it on the top, but I want to modify more, I just don't want to break it. I see a few vari-resistor on the main pcb, I'm looking for a schematic so I can find out what these are for. I found this which is a great resource, but I'd like to dig deeper.

Thanks!

nice find on the 701! I got my 401 on ebay for $20 a while back, one of my best deals to date.
Yeah that guy Oceanus is a wizard. I'll have to look for it.
thanks

Hi Mimsey. I have the 403, which judging from the pictures is extraordinarily similar. I've poked around and while I've seen stories of people who've done mods, I haven't found anything genuinely useful on doing my own -- so if you find anything, please post it here.
On the 403, the trim pots on the main PCB adjust the decay time time of the ringing oscillators on the analog drums. So these would be worth bringing out to front panel controls, particularly if you could figure out which components control the PITCH of the drum oscillators. IIRC, the right hand third-to-half of the right hand side is pretty much drums.
I've located viable trigger ins for drums if you're interested in triggering them externally, but wasn't planning on doing anything until I'd figured out what controlled the drum pitches.
I couldn't find any bends to significantly affect the timbre of the synth section beyond some boring distortion. Because of the organ-like voice architecture, I don't really think I will. :/ |

I would love info on adding triggers in and individual outs - i think these drum sounds are awesome. _________________ Experimental and modular music at: https://soundcloud.com/she-suburban-heroin-electronics
