Hello Very Happy

I am pretty new at posting on this forum, but I have been a member for a while and learned alot about both my NM1 and also the G2. I have found answers on almost any problems that I have encountered on this forum. Thanks to everyone here, for keeping this forum alive, I couldn't live without it Smile

But now I have a more serious problem and I feel like it's time for me to make my first real post Smile

The problem:
I am pretty sure I figured out that my USB connection on my G2 engine is dead Embarassed and I am going to take it to a local electronics repair shop to get it fixed. After reading every thread I could find on the subject here on the electro-music forum, I found out that most G2 owners with faulty USB connection only had to change the USB port and then it was working again. Only very few had to change motherboards or the chip for controlling the USB port. So for me that is good news, but I am still a bit concerned.

But I need s little bit of help from one of you guys who have a working engine.

Can anyone please tell me if the USB-LED is on when the G2 engine is connected to a computer or does the editor also have to be open before that LED is on?

I don't remember and I want to give the electronic repair dude as much info as possible. That way I am able to give him specific info about how it is supposed to react if it is working again.

I talked to the repair guy today and they weren't really sure if they could fix it, since it was a synth and they mostly fix computers and so on...... but I think they should be able to, since it is not really a specific synth problem, but also a problem that happens to more "normal" electronics.

Anyway, if anyone else have some need information about the faulty USB connection, I would appreciate it. Do I need a specific type of female USB port or does any one go? Any help is appreciated Wink

Thanks in advance, Jaffa!

It does not need the editor to run for the USB light to go on - don't know if it needs the driver though and can not really test that for you ...
