Soundmaster SR-88 problem |
|
|
Hello, I have this Soundmaster SR-88 drum machine and something its not right with it - when I press play, it seems to go for 3-4 steps, then stops with the kick drum and snares/cymbals pounding on til the latter fade out. Thinking that the 4011 might be faulty, I replaced it with another but unbuffered one, but that didn't help. Now I'm undecided whether I should replace the 4520 or the memory chip. From the way this thing behaves, I'm guessing the 4520 might be dead but I want to hear some other people's opinions. Also, just in case I end up having to replace the memory, since it's kind of hard to find now days, can someone suggest me a proper substitute? |

Ok, final attempt at getting somewhere with this:
What would most likely cause the SR-88 to behave the way it does?
I really need help, advice, etc.. to find out what's messed up. A service manual with troubleshooting instructions would help a lot. I don't want to have to waste time and money replacing components that turn out be ok in the first place. I want to get this thing fixed asap.
Anyone?? Hello?? |
