Does the Octa offer hd recording per se? I know that it records audio, being a sampler et al, but how long can you capture audio for?

Re: "hd recording"... The A/D and D/A converters are 24-bit. You can configure the OT to automatically convert 24-bit samples to 16-bit - when loaded into a Flex sample slot. Otherwise, 24-bit samples stay 24-bit.

The default setting is 16 seconds of recording per track recorder. You may increase/decrease the track recorder memory, keeping in mind the total available Flex RAM is 85MB. Alternatively, you can set DYNAMIC RECORDERS=YES which will use up any free Flex RAM for your track.

The "ot.pdf" document that I mentioned earlier in the thread explains Flex vs. Static machines, recorder memory, etc. more fully.

I have had inconsistent behavior in the slave Pickup Machine (looper), when using the Octatrack as a live looping box. Lately I tried setting DYNAMIC RECORDERS=YES to see if it would solve the problem.

OT arrived yesterday - spent a couple of hours with it, seems REALLY powerful (why I'm telling you guys... lol)

Got a Tempest, MnM and MD UW to go with it so I should be nice and busy for the next 6 months Smile

Thanks again for all the input and inspiration!
