Subject description: Problems with shape output
Reply with quote  Mark this post and the followings unread

Hello there,

I built the AXC Synth // VC LFO WT1. During testing I had to realize that it seems to work in principle, but not always and not all the time.
The shape output sometimes switches to "noise" or gives just noise right from the beginning after switching on.

Has anybody experience with it? Might it be a firmware problem?

Thanks for sharing.

My experience with these sorts of problems (not in ACX Synth land though) is that they tend to be grounding issues.

For example I built a Baby-8 sequencer based on a stripboard layout here---except I missed the ground connection on pin 13 of the 4017 counter chip... which led to exactly the kind of sometimes it works sometimes it doesn't you describe. Weirder, physically whacking it seemed to do something to make it work even though the problem ultimately was a floating control pin (the pin itself was soldered to the stripboard, but nothing else was...)

Double check the assembly.....

This sounds like a good idea. I will triple check. Thank you.
