hi guys! I was wondering about doing a 4017 sequencer and to activate the steps instead of toggle switches, use a couple 4066 ics and tactile switches, from my point of you view would make the sequencer more playable especially in live situations. any suggestion or schematic?

If the tactile switches are of the momentary variety (and my assumption from my small exposure is that they all are, otherwise they're called something else?) then you'll need some way to debounce and latch them as well as the 4066 to pass them through.

That said, spdt pushbutton switches ought to work the way you want. Ones with LEDs in them would be great for giving feedback as to their state too. Wouldn't really need the 4066 at that point either.

so spdt push buttons would remove the need of the 4066s? that is even better...could u point me to these kind of push buttons?
