We are pleased to announce that with approval from Nyle Steiner and David Ingebretsen, we will be producing new runs of the classic Steiner Parker Synthasystem modules.

The modules are based on David’s PCB layouts produced in 2010/2011 in Eagle CAD from Steiner & Parker’s 1970’s schematics. Modules will utilize the Ingebretsen through-hole PCBs. The full set of Synthasystem modules will be released in euro, frac, MOTM and dotcom/MU formats. Modules are designed to run on 12V or 15V systems. Each format will have available:
- PCB sets (for those wanting to design their own panels)
- Panel/PCB bundles
- Full Kits
- Assembled Modules

We are producing a standardized BOM for consistency across the modules, using readily available parts where possible.

The full Synthasystem consists of the following modules: VCO Quad, VCO Sin/Tri, VCO Sq/Saw, VC Filter, Triple Envelope Generator, VCA/Mixer, Voltage Processor/Mixer, Sequencer, VC Trigger Generator, Dual Voltage Follower, Dual S&H, Noise, Ring Modulator, Phase Shifter, Frequency Divider, Selective Inverter, Peak Selector, Tuner/Monitor, Input Amplifier

Availability of the new Synthasystem modules begins with the VCO module, followed by the VCF.

The VCO, from David’s description:
“This module produces an oscillating signal whose frequency is based on a voltage input. Typically, this is an audible tone, but this module can oscillate from well below hearing to well above. The control voltage input is typically tuned to a 1 volt/octave scale. Four waveforms are available, Sine, Triangle, Sawtooth, and Pulse. These four outputs are available at the same time. This module has a very wide useable frequency range from well below audible as a Low Frequency Oscillator to above hearing without re-tuning. Nyle really outdid himself on this module.”

Full kits and assembled modules expected in March 2014
