Hello,

I am thinking of buying midi to usb interface to have more than 1-in/1-out midi ports(as my current soundcard at the moment has), only for the purpose of controlling both NM1 editor and MIDI from the synth in my DAW at the same time...

Before i do, I want to ask if/how does MIDI signal react to tweaks in the editor while running the editor and DAW at the same time?
Like, if i write MIDI notes in my DAW first and then begin to build a patch from scratch in the editor, will that work and i will be able to hear what is happening in real time? you know, like a vst plugin? or do i still need to link all parameters i want to control to knobs first, or save-load the patch every time i add a new module or assign e.g. new lfo to filter, etc.?

If not, what are the benefits of having it setup with both PC and MIDI, besides solving the annoying problem of constantly switching cables? Smile

I hope i explained it understandably, please excuse my noobness, cheers Smile

welcome grumbo

It will react in real time to notes coming from the computer, by default oscillators and envelopes listen to MIDI, so that will just track what is being played.

CCs will have to be assigned first, but once you did that they will listen immediately too.

There is some MIDI learn stuff too .. but I've never used that myself ... best look that up in the manual, or maybe someone else will write something here.
