Hi all
Just to let you know that I have released V2 of my PIC midi controller chip. This one supports 5 octaves, a bass pedal, 2 analog controls and 6 organ stops.

This chip can also be used to build other custom midi controllers easily...its use in not limited to keyboards!

Hey this is looking pretty interesting. DIY Midi suddenly looks a bit less scary than before! I'm more of a fretboard type than keyboard so far, so please be patient with my nooby questions....
1. This is fully polyphonic, right? Just asking because most of your other picsynth stuff seems to be monophonic
2. There is no velocity per key, right? Just a global 'expression' that can be used like velocity for all keys combined - correct?

Hi
Good questions :
It is 12 note polyphonic
There is no velocity per key just a global "expression" control that alters the velocity sent through for every key

This is pretty cool!!

I only have some questions. ¿What number part is the PIC Midi Chip? I've googled it and cannot find some specific chip model.

Regards!

It is a pre-programmed PIC that picsynth programs for this specific purpose. Even if you got the same PIC chip, it would be useless without his code in it.

You could code it yourself, but then using the exact same PIC is not necessary. If you are new to programming chips and want to go the DIY route, then I recommend the Arduino. It is easier to program, has a MIDI library, and there are a lot of tutorials and online support.
