Could anyone be kind enough to point me towards a leading edge positive trigger circuit which retains the dynamics of it's input ?

Couldn't you use an envelope follower with fast attack time?

No, I just want the peak of the trigger to be proportional to the input level, in order to set the attack peak of an envelope generator.

hmm not sure if I understand it correctly but maybe a sample and hold works if you connect signal and trigger inputs together ?
