Hi there,

Relative noob to all this NM lark. Really enjoying it so far! Question....

I'm using OscSlvE and I want to control the detune in partials. So like clicking the little arrow triangles below for full octave shifts but with one of the knobs on my G1.
With my patch, being able to detune to semitones isn't much use. Anybody know any clever patch techniques?

Cheers Smile

Hi Ali,

Glad to hear you've got the bug, hope you're enjoying it.

Is the fine tuning knob no use in that instance?

You could use a constant module (possibly with some sort of scaling module - maybe partialGen) and use one of the attenuated pitch inputs on the (or a dupliacate of the) Master Osc?

If you mean physically, there's a way of latching a knob to a parameter ( I think it is clicking on the parameter, then holding the assign button and twiddling the knob)? Someone that still has a G1 might be able to correct me, it's been a while and the G2 behaves a bit different.

Cheers

D

Yes I am very much enjoying it. It's definitely my kind of instrument! Especially knowing what I know now about synthesis.

I have tried playing with scaling modules although I think I am probably rushing through it as I wasn't getting the responce I wanted.

To explain it better, is there a way to change the frequency of an oscillator in stages of octaves rather than all the semitones inbetween?
Kind of like the octave switches on an MS20

Yeah,

Patch a constant knob into a key quantizer and then feed/attenuate that into your master osc. (I think that's what you are after).
