Hello there, let me introduce myself.

My name is Nick and I've been producing electronic music for a couple of years now.

I'm a (Dutch) student and also a so called 'bedroom producer'. I have a nice setup and a good pair of studio monitors. Mixer, midi keyboard and so on. I'm using a DAW for my music production, although I'm looking for a hardware analog synth ^^

I've started to share my music to the world since yesterday! I'm planning to become more active on this forum, so I could learn a lot from you guys, and maybe I'll create some tutorials myself as well.

The more I learn the more fun it gets! (Also the quality of my projects increase as well).

I've noticed this forum seems to be very active, which means I could share talk with a lot of fellow electronic-music producers Wink

Interested in the first song i've uploaded? Check it out at soundcloud: https://soundcloud.com/officialnickson/nickson-the-universe-original-mix
(feedback is appreciated)

Hopefully you have a little idea about how I am and what I like to do now Smile

welcome Nickson

For a first track, yours is excellent. I'm not into dance styles so my comments might not be relevant, but I am impressed at the dynamic range. Too much of electronic music is just compressed at a constant level. One of the advantages of our medium is the capability of a very large range of loudness.

I encourage you to continue to develop your skills, and nurture your natural instinct for dynamic range.

Thank you mosc!

Is there any feedback you could give me?

I've heard that I could do one and another thing about the low end frequenties in this song.

I really like producing electronic music a lot and there is so much yet to be discovered..! Is there anything you could recommend me to continue my 'journey' with?

I'm reluctant to say anything more in the way of advice because I'm not into the dance styles, but I will anyway. Surprised

Another thing the I think electronic musicians ironically ignore is stereo. Pay attention to how you music sounds in stereo. Electronic sounds have that added dimension; they can move in space and fly around with good mixing; this makes the sounds more alive. I know that most clubs have mono sound systems, but probably most people listen on home stereos or with headphones.

Actually, the best advice is keep making music, and expect times of frustration so you won't get discouraged when they arrive. If you are patient, breakthroughs will come repeatedly throughout your life.
