Hi all,

After years of debating, I finally pulled the trigger, and bought a g2 engine to compliment my two nord g2 keyboards. Am I crazy? yup.

What do you suggest I use it for? Wink

No! Very Happy

2 would be perfect for me! 3 ... wow ! Since I figured out how to record/edit/save automations internally I want to dedicate my second as a MIDI sequencer.

It's about time Laughing

And then to think you wanted to get rid of 'm some years ago (IIRC) ... to use the new one for what ... MIDI and FX maybe?

I've got my three engines connected to the RME, so with totalmix I can configure the signal flow to go anywhere I like .. meaning each can be fed into the others .. but for MIDI I just have 'm chained, but I don't use that much MIDI really.

the engine will add more parts and polyphony for one of the G2 keys and more ins and outs in general, so duplicating it for the most part.
the other g2 is still doing control stuff (sequencing).

Also if i'm on the road and flying, I can pack and fly with an engine in my carry-on baggage, something I cannot easily do with the G2 keyboards.

having 3 means if one goes, I have plenty of spare parts so I'll never be without.

it was great seeing you and the gang in frankfurt last year!

If I had an Engine, I would probably use it for a MIDI noodle generator/controller and/or FX.

Based on having a single Nord G2 engine since 2006, nestled amongst my beloved classic Yamahas, I take my hat off to anybody who wants more then one! Smile

+1 - yes, carry-on can be a pain with a keyboard. You should swap one of them for my expanded G2 Engine then you'll have two which you can both carry on board Smile

hah hah, sounds tempting, but I think I'll pass, for now at least. I only need 1 engine for traveling.

Both my g2 keyboards are expanded and so is the engine i bought. that's 24 DSP processors, 12 parts in total. 12 ins and 12 outs. 6 cv outs (headphones x 3). mwuahahahah http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fRamB30E9mU

That's awesome Dasz! I guess I would mod engine outs 3+4 and have 4 outputs for eurorack CV control!

it's heeeeere.... it's expanded, it's red, and it's small.

Just moments ago, I checked the unit and played some of it's patches.

And not surprisingly, I found a few of my factory presets in it .. got me feeling nostalgic and brought back memories of what life was like when I was creating them back in late 2003.

how life has changed. Thank you Wout, for inspiring me by example. It was great to see you last year in Frankfurt!

I shall call this G2, Wout.

There's a lot of power in that red box! I remember being wowed (by amongst other things) Dasz's noodles in the performance section when I first purchased my G2 Engine. Smile
